The Surf Report from the OKC

For all those of you who know me, you know that this is completely out of character. I'm not a scrapbook-er (although i have attempted it on several occasions), a journal writer, or a blogger. I have never thought that what I have to say would be news to anyone. Now, however, I am living in the OKC (Oklahoma City) and I thought it would be fun for my friends and family to share in on the Okie Stoke.

For all those whom I have lost touch with (my flaky fault, I'm sorry), I'll give you the quick update. Steve and I were in Carlsbad, moved to San Clemente for Steve's job (he was a civilian contractor that trained marines in survival techniques) and I took up employment at Wells Fargo. At the end of last June, Steve got hired on with the FAA (air traffic control) for the San Diego Airport; this includes three months of training in Oklahoma City. Without the Surf, Steve and I are ready to find the Okie Stoke here in Oklahoma. Surprisingly Oklahoma is way cooler than you think.

On the drive up we took the I40 all the way to Oklahoma. Arizona was surprisingly pretty, along with Texas and Oklahoma. New Mexico was not as aesthetically pleasing. It was a fun road trip. Oklahoma is green with lots of trees. We're fortunate to see lots of thunder storms and cloudy weather, so It hasn't been too hot. We live in the "high end of Oklahoma", the homes we live by are big expensive homes. Lots of trees lining the streets, I felt like I was in Disneyland. This place is so clean.

Steve and I went out to play on the lake near by. I was on a kayak while Steve was on his paddle board. The water was like 70 and the air was 85. I felt like I was in Lake Powell. Lake Hefner has a little Wharf with restaurants, sailboats, a light house, with a little bike trail around the lake. The weather reminds Steve of Utah. Here are some photos of the lake.

I have a lot of time on my hands, and so I will be updating the blog soon.
